A seminar entitled "For the Future: Holocaust Commemoration of Our Generation" in cooperation with the European Union of Jewish Students and the World Union of Jewish Students
The Holocaust Memorial Center for the Jews from Macedonia in cooperation with the European Union of Jewish Students and the World Union of Jewish Students held a seminar entitled "For the Future: Holocaust Commemoration of Our Generation" on 25.04. - 30.04.2014, where Jewish students from Europe and the world took part.
For the first time we had the opportunity to bring to Macedonia the young leaders of Jewish youth organizations and associations from Europe and the world in one place, where we presented the life of the Jewish communities in the Balkans before World War II, during the Holocaust and their lives today. The youth section of the Jewish community in the Republic of Macedonia is a full member of both unions of Jewish students.
The World Union of Jewish Students with more than 50 Jewish student unions was formed in 1924. Albert Einstein was appointed its first president. They are headquartered in Jerusalem, Israel. The European Union of Jewish Students is an association of over 35 European Jewish youth organizations, ranging from Russia through Scandinavia to the United Kingdom and formed in 1978. in Grenoble, France, for 1982 its headquarters to be Brussels.
Lecturers at the seminar were Johnny Burroughs, MA, from the Yad Vashem Memorial Center in Jerusalem, Israel, Stephanie Lecesne, training coordinator from the organization "Jewish Contribution to Inclusive Europe" from Brussels, prof. Dr. Theon Jingo and prof. dr. Todor Cepreganov from the Institute of National History in R. Macedonia.
