Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the Holocaust Fund of the Jews from Macedonia and the Headquarters of Archives of the Republic of Albania
A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed today in the Holocaust Memorial Center of the Jews from Macedonia, between the Holocaust Fund of the Jews from Macedonia and the General Headquarters of Archives of the Republic of Albania. The purpose of this Memorandum is establishment of cooperation between these two institutions on the knowledge and use of the archive historical heritage concerning the Jews.
The cooperation includes exchange of the professional experience and exchange of archive magazines and literature, scientific and information materials, guidelines and publications, pictures and video recordings, including rights for their publishing, reproduction, distribution, including renting and borrowing, public exhibiting, public announcing and processing, as well as copies of the archives in order to enrich the archive funds.
Today we officially received the first 700 documents pertaining to the refuge of the Jews from Macedonia, the Balkan countries and other European countries in the period 1941-1944 and their advent in Albania. We are immensely grateful to the General Headquarters of Archives of the Republic of Albania.
Together with the signing of this Memorandum, an exhibition was opened on “The Honor of the Human” which shows the great humanity shown during the World War II, the prosecutions, the deportations and the rescue of the Jews from Macedonia and the Balkan region.
