On 24th of April 2017 the Jewish Community in the Republic of Macedonia and Holocaust Fund of the Jews from Macedonia commemorated Yom Hashoah – National Holocaust Commemoration Day in remembrance of the Jewish uprising in the Warsaw ghetto in 1943 and the Commemoration Day to 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust. The event took place in the Holocaust Memorial Center for the Jews of Macedonia by lighting six memorial candles and with opening of the “Holocaust through the children eyes” exhibition – part of the project on “Jewish Tradition, Culture and History as part of the Macedonian multicultural society”, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science, Bureau for Development of Education and Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
