Regional Conference: “Responding to Antisemitic Hate Crimes and Addressing the Security Needs of Jewish Communities”


The Holocaust Memorial Center for the Jews of Macedonia, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), the Jewish Community in Macedonia and the OSCE mission in Skopje organized the regional conference on “Responding to Antisemitic Hate Crimes and Addressing the Security Needs of Jewish Communities” on 13 November 2018.

Opening remarks at the conference were delivered by the Minister of Interior Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Oliver Spasovski, the state secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr.Viktor Dimovski, President of the Jewish Community in the Republic of Macedonia, Mrs.Berta Romano-Nikolic, the Chief of OSCE mission in Skopje, Ambassador Clemens Koja and the ODIHR project manager, Mr.Ilan Cohn.

The conference was also attended by representatives of the ministries of interior affairs, ministries of justice and Jewish communities from the Republic of Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro, Greece and Bulgaria.
